Broadcasting Legend Rafe Mair to Sign New Book in Abbotsford!

Posted: November 16, 2004

Join BC broadcasting legend and ex-MLA Rafe Mair when he signs his new book Rafe: A Memoir at Coles Abbotsford, 312-32900 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford, BC, on Saturday, December 4, 2004, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In Rafe: A Memoir, Mair uncovers behind-the-scenes exploits during his 15 years practising law in Vancouver and Kamloops, his five eventful years in Bill Bennett’s provincial government, and his nearly 25 years as a radio broadcaster. He reveals his thoughts on everything from fish farms, government and current Prime Minister Paul Martin, to his personal relationships and struggles with depression. Rafe: A Memoir is an intimate and intriguing portrait of Rafe Mair as never seen before, a reflective look at one of BC’s most contentious figures.

Rafe Mair has been a credible voice in the arena of Canadian broadcasting and print journalism for a quarter of a century and has garnered numerous awards, including the 2003 Bruce Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Journalism. He has published four books, The Last Cast, Canada: Is Anyone Listening?, Rants, Raves and Recollections and More Rants, Raves and Recollections. Rafe currently hosts “The Rafe Mair Show” on CKBD 600AM in Vancouver, BC every weekday morning. He lives in Lions Bay with his wife Wendy and his chocolate lab Chauncey.
