Poetry in Transit to Feature Harbour and Nightwood Authors!

Posted: July 28, 2005

The Association of Publishers of BC in association with TransLink is co-sponsoring Poetry in Transit a project to install poems by BC poets in interior car card spaces on the public transit system. Now in its ninth year, Poetry in Transit celebrates contemporary poetry, and BC poets and BC books in particular.

Harbour’s Ken Belford and Nightwood’s Matt Rader have been selected as two of 16 poets to have their work featured on buses in Greater Vancouver in 2005. Ken Belford’s poem “(the river” was also published in his long-awaited new collection Ecologue. An excerpt from the poem “Miraculous Hours” was chosen from Matt Rader’s debut collection Miraculous Hours.

This year’s Poetry in Transit project will be launched at Word on the Street on Sunday, September 25. The placards featuring the different poems will be distributed to other BC Transit systems throughout the province in 2006.
