Harbour Publishing Hits the Street in Vancouver
Posted: September 26, 2007
Celebrate Canadian literacy with Harbour Publishing at The Word On the Street in Vancouver on Sunday, September 30. Come hear authors read from a wide variety of genres, see exhibits, performances and more. This annual book and magazine festival takes place around Library Square (between Georgia St at Homer St and Hamilton St at Robson St) in downtown Vancouver from 11am to 6pm. Find great entertainment for all ages and admission is FREE!
Come check out the Harbour booth at tent T3 on Homer St: browse great books at incredible prices, enter to win titles from our respected authors and meet the faces of Harbour. Be the first to preview comedian Arthur Black and journalist Mike McCardell’s latest masterpieces at the Authors’ Tent. Come laugh with Arthur from 11:30am to 12pm as he reads highlights from his up-coming book Black to the Grindstone and listen to some good news stories for a change with Mike, who will entertain us with his new release The Blue Flames that Keep Us Warm.
Indulge yourself in a bit of poetry with this year’s Poet’s in Transit, Russell Thornton (The Human Shore) and David Zieroth (The Village of Sliding Time) starting at 11am in The Poet’s Corner at the Canada Post site. While there, listen to Marita Dachsel from Caitlin Press (all things said & done) at 2pm and Peter Trower (Haunted Hills and Hanging Valleys: Selected Poems 1969-2004) at 3pm.
See you there!
