Comox Valley Authors Back by Popular Demand

Posted: November 29, 2007

Last year, The Comox Valley: Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland and Area was undeniably the Valley's best-selling book during the Christmas season. Authors Paula Wild, Rick James and Boomer Jerritt are meeting demand for another public appearance with a book signing in December. They will be signing copies of The Comox Valley on Saturday, December 8 from 12-3pm at Coles in Driftwood Mall.

From snowcapped mountains and delicate sub-alpine meadows to sandy beaches and secluded bays, The Comox Valley is a fascinating portrait of the communities of Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland and Merville, as well as Denman and Hornby islands.

In a blend of stunning colour photographs and lighthearted, informative text, the book explores the mountains, rivers, beaches and sheltered waters of this unique geographic region. The Comox Valley journeys to rural farms and highlights the urban centres, offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Canadian air force base and visits Denman and Hornby islands. The authors also feature people in the community, including some of the area’s talented artists as well as some genuine West Coast characters and a legend from the days of old-time logging.

The Comox Valley will delight and entertain long-time residents, newcomers and visitors to the area, as well as armchair travellers. Paula Wild, Rick James and Boomer Jerritt provide an intimate portrait of this incredibly beautiful and special place.
