Nightwood Poet Shortlisted for Third Literary Award

September 12, 2008

Poet Rob Winger is no stranger to shortlists. Winger has just been named a finalist for an Ottawa Book Award for his debut collection of poetry, Muybridge’s Horse. Earlier this year, he was shortlisted for the 21st Annual Trillium Book Award for Poetry in English. And in 2007, Muybridge’s Horse was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry.
The Ottawa Book Awards celebrate literary achievement in Ottawa. Founded in 1986, these annual awards come with a cash prize of $5,000 and shine the spotlight on outstanding books written by Ottawa’s finest authors in the categories of English fiction, English non-fiction, French fiction, and French non-fiction. Finalists also receive a $1,000 prize and the winners of the Ottawa Book Awards will be announced on October 18, 2008 in Ottawa.
