March 31, 2009

Please join us in congratulating Harbour author Rafe Mair on the recent announcement that he will be receiving an honorary doctorate degree from Simon Fraser University (SFU) during its 2009 convocations. Rafe Mair is a former Vancouver lawyer and Kamloops MLA who left government in 1981 and went on to become one of B.C.'s most outspoken and popular broadcast personalities and political commentators. He is the author of numerous books, including What the Bleep is Going on Here? and Over the Mountains: More Thoughts on Things that Matter. He will be joined by nine other individuals receiving SFU honorary degrees this year, including internationally recognized poet Robin Blaser and former United Nations human rights high commissioner Louise Arbour.
