Cruise Experts Visit Port Moody

Posted: October 8, 2009

Cruising experts Anne and Laurence Yeadon-Jones, authors of Dreamspeaker Vol. 6, will be presenting a talk and slideshow in the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Drive) on Wednesday, October 21 at 7pm. As space is limited, please pre-register in the library or call 604-469-4577.

Intended to complement official hydrographic charts, Dreamspeaker Cruising Guides feature full-colour scenic photographs that showcase the splendour of the Pacific Northwest coast and informative and charming hand-drawn shoreline plans of selected marinas and small boat anchorages, ranging from safe all-weather havens to secluded picnic spots and marine parks. With charts, tips and data, this guide pinpoints both popular and little-known highlights to enhance the enjoyment and safety of any voyage to the West Coast.

Anne and Laurence Yeadon-Jones are experienced offshore and inshore sailors who voyaged from Southampton, England, in 1985 on their first adventure across the Atlantic Ocean. Over the last twenty years they have logged thousands of cruising hours charting, recording and photographing their travels along the beautifully rugged coastline of the Pacific Northwest. To date they have produced six colourful, information-packed Dreamspeaker Cruising Guides and see themselves as passionate ambassadors of the area’s unspoiled cruising waters, its coastal communities and local enterprises. They live in Vancouver’s West End and keep their 36-foot sailboat Dreamspeaker and faithful dinghy, Tink, close by.
