Posted: March 10, 2011

Harbour Publishing would like to congratulate its BC Book Prize nominees! Kim La Fave and Gary Kent were nominated for a Bill Duthie Booksellers' Choice Award for their children's book Fishing with Gubby. The Booksellers' Choice Award is given to the best BC book published in 2010 in terms of public appeal, initiative, design, production and content. CBC Radio host Grant Lawrence was the only author to be shortlisted in more than one category for his debut book Adventures in Solitude: What Not to Wear to a Nude Potluck and Other Stories from Desolation Sound. He was nominated for the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Book Prize--which is awarded to the book which contributes most to the enjoyment and understanding of British Columbia--as well as the Bill Duthie Booksellers' Choice Award. The winners will be announced at an awards gala at the Kay Meek Centre in West Vancouver on April 21, 2011. For more information, or to see a complete list of nominees, please visit
