National Trucking Week
Posted: Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:17pm
National trucking week is coming to a close tomorrow. Since September 2nd, events have been taking place across Canada to celebrate the contributions made by those 400,000 individuals who keep this country’s goods moving.
Later this month, Harbour Publishing will celebrate trucking in our own province with the release of Trucking in British Columbia: An Illustrated History by Daniel Francis. Trucking in British Columbia celebrates the acceleration of the trucking industry in this province over the past 100 years. Loaded with never-before-published archival and contemporary photographs, this is a unique celebration of the industry’s hundredth birthday. Today, trucking is among BC’s five largest industries. From its hazardous infancy to its exciting innovations for the future, Trucking in British Columbia illustrates the life of an industry, and marks an important anniversary in the history of the province.
Celebrate Trucking in British Columbia at TRUXPO in Abbotsford (TRADEX, 1190 Cornell Street), happening September 21st to 22nd, and get your copy of the book autographed by the author. Over and out!
