Harbour Authors Make Poetry in Transit
Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:23am
Riding public transit is not typically thought of as a poetic moment, but now it is. Poetry in Transit has selected poems from Harbour Publishing authors Rachel Rose (Song and Spectacle), John Pass (crawlspace), Tom Wayman (Dirty Snow) and Patrick Lane (The Collected Poems of Patrick Lane), and Nightwood Editions authors Gillian Wigmore (Dirt of Ages), Philip Kevin Paul (Little Hunger) and Rodney DeCroo (Allegheny, BC) to be displayed on buses and SkyTrains throughout BC.
In partnership with TransLink and BC Transit, the Association of Book Publishers of BC (ABPBC) produces sixteen poetry cards annually featuring the work of BC-authored and Canadian-published poets. The cards are displayed on buses and SkyTrains throughout the transit systems in BC.
Next time you’re waiting at the bus stop or SkyTrain platform, enjoy a few lines from some of this province’s most talented poets.
