Howard White--author, poet, and driving force within BC's publishing industry for the past 30 years--was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria on June 5, 2003. He has devoted his life to the unique culture of BC with special attention to the literature and history of the West Coast. The award-winning founder of Harbour Publishing, Mr. White is widely credited with changing the way British Columbians see themselves, their history and their culture.
